Komparator is an application, that can compare and synchronize the content of two (local or remote) folders. Contrary to popular belief this activity is popular among users of all platforms, but in Linux you have to use unfriendly console apps (such as diff) to do the job.

Microsoft admits manipulation, abandons OOXML

According to John Matusow’s blog post, the Redmond Giant has admitted dishonest practices in process of standardization of Office Open XML format. They have also announced the plans to abandon the format in favor of - recently known as competing - ODF format.
