Cooperation

Wednesday, 16 November 2005, michuk

We are currently looking for people who would like to help developing the PolishLinux.org vortal.

Authors:

If you can write good articles and know GNU/Linux or BSD well, we could cooperate. We are looking for people who would like to write howtos and articles about desktop Linux. There are lots of yet uncovered stuff, so we can help you to choose the topic for the article if you don’t have your own ideas (here is a list of proposed topics). We are a community vortal so we strongly prefer volunteer help. Still, we are willing to pay for very good articles. The amount depends on the popularity of the article and can be negotiated personally.

Distro sections maintainers

We are looking for people who would like to maintain the following distro sections: Aurox, openSUSE, Fedora, Arch Linux, Xandros, MEPIS, DesktopBSD and PC-BSD. Also, we are planning to add Zenwalk and PCLinuxOS to the list, so users of these systems are strongly encouraged to join PolishLinux.org now!

If you prefer to stay anonymous you can still help by editing the distribution data on PolishLinux.org Wiki. No registration is required there and all the descriptions are automatically transferred to the vortal distribution comparison tables.

Translators

If you know both English and Polish, you can help with translating the articles both ways. If you know some other language and would like to produce a vortal version for this language, we are also very positive (remember that it’s a lot of work though).

Proof-readers

As some of the articles are translated from Polish or written by non-native speakers, proof-reading of the articles is essential. Currently we have a few proof-readers in our team but we still need new people to help us, so if you don’t mind spending 10 minutes once a week to help us keep the good quality of articles, drop us a message!

Banner exchange

If you have a website concerning GNU/Linux or you think that your users may like to check out Linux, you are welcome to link to our website – here is our media page with banners. We’re willing to link back, depending on your website size, on a banner or under the Google Ads (which appear on every page except the home page).

Any other kind of cooperation will be considered as well, so don’t be afraid to ask.

In any case, feel free to contact Adam Mrówczyński (Adam M.) for details concerning the cooperation.

In my humble opinion, I think the linuxers better let the would-users learned in task or job-based information, instead of code or algorythm-based tech. works, while insisting to the command line interface, to derive them from the windows addiction.

Basically, tech.s exist for giving hands for those who shall overcome their hostile circumstance up to the level of non-hurting the fundamental environment. This kind of philosophy the linuxers may share will give more dignity for its contributors (developers), compared with of commercial vendors.

For that reason, the contributors need to fund its operating sacrifice at risk, and if they do, their long-run presence will also be avowed by the public.

Also, if the security erreta linux and electronics bear yet, will be overcomed by some precious efforts, the linux will be the pollution-free ‘SYSTEM’, replacing UNIX or Windows indeed. Ya, it’s a system.

Happy new year, all.

My name is Heungsun Choi, Korean, 41, and I can give you hands with some localization or other technical works. Actually, I’m preparing for some exams different to computing environment now and programing had been stopped long ago. I started from ms dos 4.8 user environment though had learned programing under basic 8bit pc. Almost same is the programing, I think. Honestly, once I tried to do manual debuging under dos environment, I went crazy and when I saw the rpm dependencies first, I felt the same thing.

How can I help you?

Your article piqued my interest in ways no article has in a while. I think your unique points make sense and all are certainly interesting. Thank you for interesting content.
