I'm something of a distro junkie, and one of the first programs I install is Rox. It's fast, simple and complete. I started using it on an old machine with Fluxbox running on Slackware. It took a couple of days to get used to, but once I did I was hooked. When I built my new dual-core system last year I cycled through all the big desktop environments and window managers, but after a couple of days of playing with the bells and whistles I'd start wondering why I needed all those panels and panes and whatnot. Now I'm back to a simpler set-up. Just because you have a fast system and a wide screen doesn't mean you have to waste it with bling and bloat. Rox is one of my can’t-live-without programs.
