BTW, those all in one livecds can take a while to boot up and they can run kinda slow as there are so many things loaded into the RAM. I suggest getting the customized and "slaughtered" releases that only do particular things (if you want a movie player, get GeexBox, want a firewall, get a firewall distro). The less it does, the better it will seem to work!

There's too many live-cd distros too mention, all are good in there own ways or target specific tasks, even educational.

FOr media (mp3/divx/xvid/mpg/asf/rm/etc/flac) playing, GeexBox is the way to go, its the simplest and smallest.

I'm still searching for a good MAME livecd, but the ones out kinda suck and do not have uptodate MAME that plays all ROMS :(

Why nobody mention about Nimblex? Currently I`m using this distro and everything is O.K. Good choice for newbies. :-D

I think for security, backtrack network security suite is an excellent choice.

What about PCLinuxOS?

If you want to help adding PCLinuxOS description to the vortal, visit our wiki: http://wiki.polishlinux.org/pclinuxos and edit its data. KateOS and Zenwalk have already been added this way.

What about PCLinuxOS? It comes 6th in Distrowatch ranking and is extremely user-friendly, stable and beatiful!
