GIMP is the image manipulation program for GNU/Linux. It directly competes with the de facto market standard — Adobe Photoshop.

By publishing multiple GIMP tutorials we are trying to prove that it’s already a viable alternative for Photoshop users and we strongly encourage to give it a try.

Remember that high quality graphics means bigger file size and more load on the server. If you have a lot of big graphics on your site you might want to upgrade your webhosting plan to accomodate the server load especially if you have a huge amount of traffic.
