Another good method to get help in GNU/Linux is to use one of the multiple web forums. Forums are the modern newsgroups - available straight from the web browser. There are a few popular general Linux forums and many forums dedicated to a specific distribution. It’s good to get involved in at least one or two web forums. Using forums to get help and after a while also to help others is a great way to actively develop the global Linux community.
Popular generic Linux forums:
- Nuxified forums - free software support community
- LinuxQuestions.org - one of the most popular Linux forums around
- LinuxForums - another great resource of Linux help for newbies
- JustLinux - a popualar forum for Linux starters
- OSDir forums - a forum of OSDir.com
Popular distro forums:
- Ubuntu: Ofificial Ubuntu Linux forums
- Gentoo: Official Gentoo Linux forums
