This is a great story that has been raised by my Australian IT colleagues on some national discussion lists and I have just posted a note about it in my blog.

I laughed when I read the part that the most interesting way of saying “no” was “the school already has such thing”.

Actually things are getting better since FWIOO just received funding from the government. Not enough to cover all the campaigns but still enough to employ a few more people and start getting more serious with the actions.
The business in Poland unfortunately is not keen on sponsoring any campaign or organization. Even big companies like IBM or Google. Sad but true.

"FWIOO is still struggling with the lack of money. Although there is some hope for funds from the European Union next year, donations are highly anticipated!"

Oh, yes. The money will be ongoing a problem in this case. Until this foundation will not start seriously talking to the Polish IT business, the marketing campaign (and presentations) will be first and last action. You may call, so many times like you want, yourselves "CEO", "Member of the board" etc. but it means really nothing in this case.

Local government in Poland want talk to the business because they want to make business as well, even for schools.

Sorry for that but usually nobody teach about this "business rules" in Polish schools.
