Community Wiki for PolishLinux.org

[ Tuesday, 17 October 2006, michuk ]

If you like the Linux Distribution Comparison feature on our vortal, you can now help improving it on the new community Wiki. You can modify and enhance the information about your favorite distro’s features and all your changes will be visible on the production site (just after verification). By the way, anyone can edit the information, no registration needed whatsoever!

We set up a Wiki because we believe that it’s just handy for things like enhancing the already existing content, adding new links or information. The previous apprach (e-mail all your suggestions to us or use the forums) did not prove vety sucessful, either.

We hope that with the introduction of the Wiki, where everyone can modify the distro features information, there will be a huge boost in the quality of the descriptions. We also hope to get the features descriptions of some systems that we are currently missing, namely: PCLinuxOS, Freespire, Frugalware, Zenwalk, DesktopBSD, PC-BSD and DragonFlyBSD.

If you have any suggestions concerning the new Wiki approach or would like us to put more content there, please leave your comments here or just send them directly to us.

By the way, the PolishLinux.org Community Wiki is powered by the outstanding open-source wiki engine provided by the creators or the wiki-farm WikiDot.com. The ease of use and powerful editing features of Wikidot.com was one of the reasons to choose it instead of setting up our own wiki site. I hope you find it useful as well.
